Question by Allison: Studies on Petrochemicals?
I can’t seem to find specifics online about why Petrochemicals are allowed in our food, cosmetics, and daily household products if they are toxic. You try to tell a skeptic about why toxins are bad, and they come back with “well, the USDA doesn’t ban it, so there is nothing wrong.” So, even though it makes sense that all these foods and products have toxins in them, where is the literature showing WHY toxins are allowed in food and products. Can anyone help me by pointing me to valid websites (no blogs) with this information?

Thank you.

The FDA is pretty much controlled by “big business.” Ever wonder why there are so many lawsuits against Drug Manufacturers (supposedly regulated by the FDA)? Ever listen carefully to the disclaimers that Big Pharma issues on its commercials? I once was prescribed a medication by my heart doctor. I did some research and discovered two things: (1) the potential side effects were staggering; and (2) there was a lot of litigation going on over this drug. I tossed the Rx and told my doctor that there was no way I was going to flip the proverbial coin to decide whether or not I got MS like symptoms that might or might not go away, or some of the other symptoms. Same thing with cosmetics. The FDA does not regulate them. They say that on their site.
