<p>This report was created for global strategic planners who cannot be content with traditional methods of segmenting world markets. With the advent of a &#8220;borderless world&#8221;, cities become a more important criteria in prioritizing markets, as opposed to regions, continents, or countries. This report covers the top 2000 cities in over 200 countries. It does so by reporting the estimated market size (in terms of latent demand) for each major city of the world. It then ranks these cities and reports them in terms of their size as a percent of the country where they are located, their geographic region (e.g. Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Latin America), and the total world market. </p>
<p>In performing various economic analyses for its clients, I have been occasionally asked to investigate the market potential for various products and services across cities. The purpose of the studies is to understand the density of demand within a country and the extent to which a city might be used as a point of distribution within its region. From an economic perspective, however, a city does not represent a population within rigid geographical boundaries. To an economist or strategic planner, a city represents an area of dominant influence over markets in adjacent areas. This influence varies from one industry to another, but also from one period of time to another. </p>
<p>In what follows, I summarize the economic potential for the world&#8217;s major cities for &#8220;naphtha and other unfinished oils for use as petrochemical feedstocks excluding carbon black&#8221; for the year 2009. The goal of this report is to report my findings on the real economic potential, or what an economist calls the latent demand, represented by a city when defined as an area of dominant influence. The reader needs to realize that latent demand may or may not represent real sales.</p>

If I let my hair dry naturally it is really poofy and coarse and has no texture.  If I blow dry it it is really smooth and straight and that&#8217;s how I like it but it makes my hair too dry if I do it everyday.  Sometimes I put gel in it but it&#8217;s not naturally curly enough to look good that way.<br />
Can anyone with these same hair characteristics have some advice for me? Something low maintenance and no chemical treatments.</p>

<p>Making candy corn out of polymer clay is quite easy and it is an excellent project for just about any age group. These little polymer clay candy corns are so cute and are great for adding to all sorts of decorations and other things. You could use them to embellish things like frames, magnets, candles or even for adding to scrapbooking pages.</p>
<p><b>Supply List:</b></p>
<p>- Polymer clay (yellow, orange, white) &#8211; I normally use the Sculpey brand<br />
- Clear acrylic sealer (optional)</p>
<p><b>Instructions:</b></p>
<p>1. Warm up each color of clay by rolling and kneading it until it feels soft. Now roll each color out until it&#8217;s about 1/4&#8243; thick. Now press the three rolls together with white on top, orange in the middle and yellow on the bottom.</p>
<p>2. Find a thin, sharp edge such as a thin piece of cardboard to use to slice through the clay. With the white on top, make angled cuts through the clay. </p>
<p>You are trying to make triangular shaped pieces with the white being at the small tip and the yellow at the wider bottom.</p>
<p>3. Now to give them a more finished look, smooth and round the edges. Now the candy corn is finished. Before you bake them decide if you are going to leave them as plain candy corn or if you would like to turn them into buttons, earrings, or maybe a necklace pendant.</p>
<p>4. To make buttons, just poke two holes in the middle of the orange clay. Now the buttons are ready to bake. To make earrings, you will need eye pins and earring hooks. Poke the eye pins straight down from the top of the candy corn. Then press the clay around the pin so it will hold. Now the earrings are ready to bake. To finish your earrings, attach the earring hooks. </p>
<p>You might need to use needle-nose pliers to do this. To make a pendant, poke an eye pin into the candy corn as described for the earrings. Now the pendant is ready to bake.</p>
<p>5. Bake your candy corn creations according to the package. I baked mine for about 10 minutes at 275F which worked well.</p>
<p>6. (Optional) After the candy corns have cooled, you could spray them with acrylic sealer to make them glossy and have a more complete look. This may take a few hours to dry completely.</p>
<p>The above suggestions are just a few ideas for how you could use these cute clay candy corns. Take a minute and think of other fun and creative ways you could use these little embellishments. On clothes or on a costume? In a table setting for a party? Maybe on a throw pillow? There are so many possibilities for these little candy corns.</p>

These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-à-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for distilling coal tars and manufacturing cyclic crudes, cyclic intermediates, and hydrocarbons from refined petroleum or natural gas excluding petrochemicals. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world&#8217;s regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business.</p>

NDEMC&#8217;s pilot project, The Midwest Project for SME &#8212; OEM Use of Modeling and Simulation is the first large-scale public-private partnership of the United States Government, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), state and university computing centers, the State of Ohio, and other non-governmental organizations to provide education, training, and access to computing resources for the Small- and Medium-Size Enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing workforce to develop modeling and simulation skills. The Project will improve competitiveness and innovation capacity in Small- and Medium-Size Enterprises (SMEs) in the US manufacturing supply chain. The ultimate outcome of the Project includes: a US workforce with enhanced technical skills, improved US product quality, better customization of US products, and US job retention and growth. <p>This econometric study covers the world outlook for liquefied refinery gases and aliphatics made in petrochemical plants for use as a chemical raw material across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-à-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for liquefied refinery gases and aliphatics made in petrochemical plants for use as a chemical raw material. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world&#8217;s regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business.</p>

<p><strong><i>Question by anoe</i>: I recently built a swimming pool for my house. It is now ready for use. I need tips on the maintenance&#8230;?</strong><br />
My pools holds approx. 39,000 litres of water. What and how much chemicals do I need to put in it? How often do I need to do this? What else do I need to do aside from putting chemicals in and vaccuming it?</p>

<p><i>Answer by June B</i><br/>Your contractor may be able to recommend a pool supply store near you.  Always use quality supplies.  They may seem expensive, but the results are worth it!   You can buy a small water test kit to use at home that will guide you as to what chemicals you need that day.   Vacuum often&#8211;every day is best.  Your pool supply store should also offer free water testing.  Enjoy!</p>

I have a few products that say they are all natural.  My lip balm is certified natural &#038; organic, and it says things like: &#8220;Paraben free&#8221;, and &#8220;Petrochemical free&#8221; .</p>
<p>What are petrochemicals? Are they bad for you?</p>

<p><i>Answer by Sur La Mer</i><br/>IF A PRODUCT IS LABELED &#8220;ALL NATURAL&#8221; OR &#8220;ORGANIC,&#8221; IT&#8217;S PROBABLY HYPOALLERGENIC.False<br />
Remember, poison ivy is all natural, too! But you probably don&#8217;t want it on your skin. It is very possible to have an allergic reaction, or other irritation, from products labeled &#8220;all natural&#8221; or &#8220;organic.&#8221; For example, lanolin, from sheep&#8217;s wool, is a common natural ingredient in some moisturizers that sometimes causes allergic reactions.<br />
You may also need to watch certain &#8220;all natural&#8221; products that contain substances taken from plants. These products may be more at risk for bacteria. Since these products contain no preservatives or have non-traditional ones, your risk of infection may be greater.</p>
<p>Parabens are known endocrine disrupters that are not only detrimental to human health, but also destructive to animal hormones and development. Studies have found higher levels of parabens in tumors from human breast tissue, but, because the potential damage to the endocrine system has yet to be proven, the controversy surrounding the toxicity of parabens or FLOURIDE in toothpaste is still being debated.</p>
<p>How about all the so called good foods we eat from fruits &#038; vegetables. They are also FULL of toxics that are bad for us. Google UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits &#038; Vegetables<br />
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) studied 100,000 produce pesticide reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to create a list of 49 of the dirtiest and cleanest produce.</p>
<p>FDA also now require safety labeling changes to the following sections: BOXED WARNING, CONTRAINDICATIONS, WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS, ADVERSE REACTIONS, PATIENT PACKAGE INSERT, and MEDICATION GUIDE.</p>
